Trust in the Lord.
When the Lord called Gideon to lead the historic 300-man charge, the first thing Gideon said was,
"...if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us?" (Judges 6:13)
Many people ask the same question today, "If the Lord is with me, why is all this happening to me?” There are many answers to that question. In the case of the Israelites, the answer was found in Judges 6:1-10. They did evil in the sight of the Lord, they worshipped another god, and did not listen to the Lord.
Truthfully, that answer still applies to many who suffer today, yet they blame the Lord.
Nevertheless, there are many to whom the answer above does not apply. Sometimes, we endure hardship to purge us from iniquities or to re-position us. Sometimes, we endure trials for righteousness sake. I’ve known people to suffer until they removed people out of their lives who shouldn’t be there! There are many scenarios, but let every person work out their own salvation with fear and trembling. (Phil. 2:12)
God is merciful and loves us in spite of our shortcomings. When we turn to HIM, we can expect victory, just like Gideon’s Army.
After the successful defeat of their enemies, the Israelites grew in stature. The same applies when we overcome. We grow when we defeat our enemies — enemies such as lust, jealousy and hatred, to name a few. But let’s not overlook regular disobedience to God, dabbling in the occult (soothsayers, palm readers, tarot cards, psychic network); and other works of the flesh (unbridled desires, pride, vanity, truce-breaking, etc.) — All of which were paid for by Our Savior, Jesus Christ, on The Cross.
If you know anything, know this… God has a plan for your life, and it is a good plan! Ask Him to lead you and keep you on the path toward YOUR promised land — that good place where you grow closer to Him daily. God has plans to do you GOOD, not bad. So, trust in Him, no matter what! God is faithful to bless you. With much love, apostle Tracey Smith. SalvationLive.com
