A powerful preacher at a young age, the West Memphis-based gospel singer was only 15 when she broke into the Billboard 200 album chart with her hit, "Greater Is Coming" (released 2012).

In addition to being featured on a 2017 episode of the OWN TV series Greenleaf, she released the hit single "You Will Win" and published an inspirational book of the same name in early 2018. Carr's fourth long-player, One Nation Under God, followed in 2018, topping the gospel chart and earning two Grammy nominations. She made her film acting debut in the family drama Never Heard. The lush stand-alone single "I See Miracles" arrived in 2019, with the motivational "Changing Your Story" appearing in 2020.

Carr was also honored by Ebony magazine as one of the POWER 100 most influential people in the world.
